TEMPLE QUARRY!!!

Instead of going to our Stake Conference and walking the halls with our two kids, we decided to head up to Temple Quarry.  I hadn't been there since I was a littl girl and Alan had never been there.  The kids loved it.  They loved climbing on the rock and we even let them take a little rock home.  Which we don't exactly know if that is against the rules or not but oh well.

We also told the kids a little bit about why this place is called temple quarry.  We explained that when they were building the Salt Lake Temple this is where they got all the beautiful stone to make the temple with.  We walked around and enjoyed the beautiful scenery.  It was a perfect day for hiking and enjoying one anothers company outside.

Centerpiece

As I was setting the table for dinner Kade crawled up on one of the chairs. When I went to grab the food and bring it back to the table this is what I found. He hadn't taken a nap and was extremely tired, but I was trying to keep him up so he would go to sleep at his normal time. So I guess as soon as I wasn't looking he decided to doze off. Alan asked if he should move him and I told him to just leave him there until we were done eating. I knew that if we moved him he would have a horrendous fit. So needless to say we had dinner in peace with a very unique centerpiece.

WHO STOLE THE COOKIES....

Ali and I made cookies one night and I told her she had to wait until they cooled down to eat them. I noticed the kids were being really quiet and knew exactly what they were doing. So I grabbed my camera and caught them in the act of eating the stolen hot cookies. I love how they both look so innocent in this picture.

DADDY DAUGHTER DATE!!!

Ali and Alan had the opportunity of going to a daddy daughter party put together by the primary presidency of our ward. All the girls got to wear their best princess attire and the daddy's were supposed to dress up (at least wear a tie and a nice shirt). They were attending a princess ball where they would learn the waltz and get to dance with their dads. They also had a red carpet and a castle backdrop. All the girls got a ring and bracelet. They also got a pen and a note pad to write down their dreams in. Ali was very excited that she got to go out with her dad, without mom or Kade. I asked Ali what her favorite part of the night was and she said "I just loved spending time with my daddy and dancing with him". I am glad that they both had the opportunity of spending some quality time together.

Here's to 9 years!!!

Today is our 9th anniversary. I cannot believe it has been nine years, where has the time gone. I am so glad that I have Alan, we have been through a lot of up and a lot of downs over the last 9 years, but I am so glad that I have had him by my side through it all.  This year we decided to keep it simple.  We also decided no gifts, yes I was totally 100% okay with that.  We decided that having each others undevided attention was a better gift then anything we could buy.  I ended up decorating our bedroom and getting rid of the kids for the night, this was the first time since Kade was born.  We rented a red box and had chocolate strawberries.  Even though it might of sounded boring it was just what Alan and I needed.  Thanks mom for watching the kids!!!  I am so very excited to see what is next in our crazy life.

HE IS IN LOVE WITH A CAT!!!

When we were out cleaning my Grandpa and Grandma Sagers house out we decided to go up to my Aunt Jo's house and see her new litter of Kittens.  Kade fell in love with the orange cat.  He won't let anyone hold it or pet it.  He carried this cat around and was sad when he accidentally dropped it and the cat ran behind the couch.  Luckily when Kade started to cry the kitten came out from behind the couch and let him pick her back up.  I had decided that we were taking the kitten home.  Kade has never grown attatched to anyone or anything that quickly.  I couldn't deny him the kitten.  As we were getting ready to leave, Kade started to rub his eyes.  He quickly and quietly walked over to my Aunt Jo and handed her the kitten.  As he started walking toward me I noticed his eye's were starting to swell up and he was getting red splotches all over his body.  Apparently he realized the kitten was making him miserable and decided to give the kitten back, which was good because I would have hated to tear the kitten away from him.  For a couple moments he truely loved the kitten and the kitten was content being handled by a 20 month old.

FLOUR POWER

----------9-5-09----------

So my Mom, Sandy, Charly, Ali, Kade, and myself went out to my grandma and grandpa's house to start cleaning everything out of it. It was a very emotional day filled with a lot of memories and remembering what we thought was so special about them. My mom had found some letters that she had written to my grandparents a long time ago. It was fun reading them and having my mom tell us a little more about what was going on with her during those times. It also made me realize that we all go thru trials in life and we all seem to some how get over them. Anyway, in the middle of it all Kade found my grandma's flour drawer and thought it was a lot of fun to play in. It kept him preoccupied for about an hour. My grandma loved to bake and I am sure she was looking down laughing at the sight of him being covered head to toe in her flour. We had a mess to clean up after he was done but it was sure worth it.

FIRST DAY OF PRESCHOOL

----------8-20-09----------

This morning I woke Ali up and she was so excited for her first day of school. I have always had a hard time getting her to eat breakfast right after she wakes up but today it was a different story. She hurried and ate her breakfast so she could get ready for school. I decided that we would probably need an hour for her to wake up, eat, get dressed, do her hair, and get out the door. I was way off, she wanted to go to school so badly that she was ready in 25 minutes. On the way to school all she could talk about was that her cubby was purple and that she was getting her new school bag. When we got to her classroom she gave me a big hug and a kiss at the door and then went and found her seat. I couldn't wait until her class was over to find out how she liked it. I was kind of disappointed when I went to pick her up and I asked how it was and she replied "it was boring". The teacher also heard Ali say that she was bored and asked if she could speak to me for a minute. Mrs. Groves told me that Ali is a little more advanced then the rest of the kids so the first couple of weeks might be a repeat and a little boring for her. Hopefully it gets better for her. Ali later told me not all of school was boring. She said she had fun playing with the kids in her class and learning about their class rules. I still cannot believe she is in school.

Ali and Mrs. Groves

----------8-18-09----------
Today Ali had preschool orientation. She is really excited about going to school. She has wanted to go to school for as long as I could remember. In fact I got her a couple of work books so she could start learning her letters and she tells me every night "Mom we need to do my homework". She is getting so big, I cannot believe I have a preschooler. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Groves and she is really nice. Ali was really nervous about going to school with out her mom but I think she is okay now that she met her teacher. She was also excited about meeting the kids that are going to be in her class.

About Me

My photo
I love being a mom. My kids are my world. I love the sweet spirit they bring into our home. Alan and I have been married for 11 years, I can't believe it has been that long. It seems like no time has past at all. I am truly grateful that I married my best friend. He is my rock!!! My kids are so amazing, they teach me new things every single day. As for my hobbies I love to scrapbook although I haven't done any since before Kade was born, I love to dance and seem to have passed that gene to my daughter. I love to sing when no one is around. I love when my house is clean and the laundry is done and I have nothing but time to just play and hang out with my children (this doesn't happen nearly enough). I love watching my kids discover new things and watching them play together. I am so very grateful for the life I have and the people I get to share it with.
